July 26th - EDITOR'S NOTE: Due to the high volume of Google Searches that were hitting this page looking for the lyrics to this song, i thought i'd add the lyrics to this entry to make it worth your clicking! this seems to be a popular google search, and this is apparently the only site coming up half the time....so, here they are, through my ears at least, so don't blame me if i'm wrong! The original entry is further down the page.

"Two Girls"
Paranoid Social Club

i need two girls if i cant have you
i need two girls if i cant have you
one that i can love, to have and to hold
one for at the club, one back at home
i need two girls if i cant have you
i need a girl thats clean to bring home to my mom
and one thats got legs that are open and long
one that thinks Im right, one knows that Im wrong
one that always fights and throws my clothes on the lawn
one that does laundry and cooks food in the kitchen
one that says shes sorry and one just doesnt listen
this girl wears makeup and that girls plain
this girl is great but that girls insane
(i need) i need two girls if i cant have you
i need two girls if i cant have you
one lives in a house with a white picket fence
the other high heels and tight-fitted dress
i need two girls if i cant have you
one wants a lady-killer, ones dead
one wants to get all up in my head
one minds her business cause shes self-employed
ones independent one needs help from a boy
one sees potential in a man when hes broke
the other ones still thinking that this band is a joke
one hits the road like the second you come
the other one you wake up when your breakfast is done
(i need) i need two girls if i cant have you
i need two girls if i cant have you
one that gets jealous when i try to be free
one thats with the fellas every time that i leave
i need two girls if i cant have you
this girls romantic, but that girls nasty
this girls a tramp but that girls so classy
one speaks French and the language of love
the others bangin on me like an African drum
i need two girls if we have to be done
cause all these girls they add up to, like half of your sum
so if you break my heart ill just be having some fun
i need two girls if i cant have you
(i need) i need two girls if i cant have you
i need two girls if i cant have you
i need two girls if i cant have you
i need two girls (repeat)****

now, back to the real entry...

my newest obsession: the paranoid social club. song: two girls. (i need two girls, if i can't have you...) great song: catchy, amusing lyrics, puts you in a better mood the moment you hear the opening chords. been hearing it on our local independent radio station for about two months now. turns out that theyll be playing our bar of choice this weekend. cant wait to check them out. im hoping the rest of the album lives up to listening pleasure which the single has given me. it was a shock and a half when i heard it mentioned on the radio. yes, i did a girly screech of pleasure in my car driving home from work.

the bar never gets anything good, usually its just this one local band, sirsy, which has some huge following for reasons that are beyond me. first of all, if I have to hear another male comment on how hot the lead singer, melanie, is i think ill go home and slit my wrists with a plastic spork. i dont see it. and its not that i have problems admitting when another woman is hot. i can appreciate beauty when I see it. but seriously, there is nothing that appealing about this woman. anyway, they do just a bunch of covers, and some originals. theyre okay, but not great. and they always play at this bar. but i digress...

so, anyway, with the paranoid social club coming it looks as though i might be adding yet another CD to my ever growing collection. ever-growing seems to be the understatement of the world these days. we vacationed two weeks ago in cape cod, where i rediscovered the wonder that is the small independent record store. i think that trip alone has led to us needing to get a new cd tower. got some nice fun used CDs-pulp, mando diao, primal scream, sasha, midnight oil, richard cheese (who wed heard of thanks to sexy atheists diary-hilarious, check him out if you get the chance (richard cheese, that is-though check out sexy athiest's diary too, i highly recommend it), stereo mcs, travis, robbie williams and several more. and those are just the ones i couldnt live without, i probably passed up another 40 i would have loved, but couldnt justify...

anyway, it has definitely been a good year for music (at least live music), as my better half mentioned we checked out jonny lang back in june we also saw sting and annie lennox a few weeks ago, the crystal method earlier in the spring (which i will go into more detail about in a bit), we have the cures curiousa tour coming in august (close enough to the stage ill be able to see robert smiths shade of lipstick), as well as norah jones and a free big bad voodoo daddy show (what can i say, i still dig the new big-band sound-i am a music geek. if it is anything but country, chances are i dig it)...

so, anyway-sting put on a decent show, i think annie lennox took the spotlight though (and im not that big a fan of hers). the woman has an amazing set of pipes still. the highlight of the show was sting doing a thousand years off of the brand new day album, and purchasing a red baby-doll tee that says theres no religion but sex and music (a lyric from sacred love). the shirt is definitely an attention-getter. ive yet to decide if that attention is a good thing-i definitely heard a lot about it when i wore it out last weekend.

i do think, however, that that lyric alone sums up everything quite nicely. though it fails to mention the interconnectedness of it all. theres something about music that just gets me going, especially live music. i mean, im rapturous when i finally get to hear a new song by a band i love (and oh god, there are too many to count). if i know a new album is out that i want, the countdown and sweet anticipation nearly kills me, and when the album is good, its like my own sweet payoff for being patient...

anyway, my better half told the story of the jonny lang in his last entry. though he skewed the truth a little- the computer chair/broken light incident was more from the adrenalin left over from the show. it had nothing to do with an internet search.

so, on that vein, we saw tcm concert a few months ago, i think that show has single-handedly done me in. now Ive always been turned on by live music. since that show, i will never be able to attend any other rockin show (or listen to their album legion of boom), without getting hot. it was my second time seeing them-they put on a killer show. you get lost in the music while youre there, you body pulses with the beat of the bass, and you just want sweet release on the dance floor. they were touring for their newest release, legion of boom, which is a good album, but my favorite was still tweekend (yeah, thats changed).

dj hyper opened and had a pretty good set. i was ready to hit the dance floor i didnt though, we were with a friend who, under any circumstances, doesnt dance. when tcm finally came on, the first few beats of weapons of mass distortion and i knew this was going to be unlike any other concert experience i had ever had. the song starts with some sort of siren-sounding wail that just gets louder and louder and then a beat picks up and keyboard track which I can best describe as sounding similar to the theme song from halloween. it was more powerful than anything id heard before. we stayed back by the bar, me swaying back and forth . still swaying, i felt my better half reach around me and pull me close to him, until i was rubbing against him as i moved. that was all it took, i was turned on, i looked back at him startled, and thrilled, and he just smiled, as i felt his hand slip down below the waist of my baggy jeans. within seconds i was wet, and he continued to rub me, from behind and in front. maybe it was the music that lessened our inhibitions, i dont know. but i wanted him then, and music just heightened it. who needs ecstasy when you have the right person. not being able to stand it any longer we moved to the dance floor, where the crowd made us less conspicuous. it was an amazing experience, and my only regret is that we couldnt have gone further, then again i suppose that makes it all the more sweet to remember.
